In the first year you will probably spend a lot of time on site for a project in Horsforth, Leeds.
At the same time we will train you on how to build a scheduling system to model the processes in a factory.
And we'll work together utilising your programming skills to improve and develop our own software modules that cover data integration with ERP systems, our slectFactory system and API tools for Opcenter data manipulation & scheduling rules.

Those with an *asterix are the must haves, the others we'll help you to acquire.
Requirements: *=Must Have
1*
Modern Programming Skills
For building business applications. Currently the software we provide is based on Windows Forms and in-memory data, we expect this to change in the near future and need you to provide the knowledge to adapt these programs to be available via web browsers. Generally, the work includes both background data manipulation and front end screen development.
2*
SQL Server Data Manipulation Skills
To support the above. The vast majority of our clients hold their ERP and APS data in Microsoft SQL Server databases. We need you to be able to work with things like SQL Views and Stored Procedures.
3*
An Interest in Manufacturing
All work will relate to manufacturing companies. You will frequently find yourself on site, dressed in safety gear, following the physical processes that we need to model in the computer software.
4*
Analytical Skills
Ability to question an end user about their business problem, to devise potential solutions and then to write a technical specification to describe the tasks steps to make it happen. It's also about being inquisitive, getting to the bottom of the issue, and having a determination to make the software work for the customer in a way that exceeds their expectations.
5*
Communication Skills
Ability to communicate with everyone, from shop floor operatives through to senior executive level. In order to promote and explain the solution and manage stakeholder expectations.
6*
A Driving License
Pandemic permitting, you will need to be willing and able to drive to the customer site on occasion.
7
Experience with Opcenter (Preactor) APS
This is the software that you'll spend the most time working with, so any previous knowledge of this with be great, if not we'll teach everything you need to know.
8
ERP
Understanding of ERP systems, in particular Sage® X3.
Focussed on the manufacturing, MRP, inventory control, sales and purchasing elements of these systems.
9
Reporting Tools
The ERP and Opcenter systems hold vast amounts of data, a key part of the role will involve bringing this to the surface via reports, dashboards and apps. Knowledge of tools such as Crystal Reports, SSRS, PowerBI, DevExpress will help a lot.
